The First Day of Summer

Summer is here! And so are beach days!
I took these a few days ago, on the 21th actually, which was the first day of summer and more importantly my Birthday.  :)  My siblings and I spent the day on long beach Island, which was a great way to spent my 18th birthday.

Marta's "parasol"

"I'm Marta,  I'll be seven on Tuesday and I'd like a pink parasol"     -Sound of Music

Our Marta recently turned seven and because of the Sound of Music, she asked for a pink parasol (or umbrella- fortunately she wasn't too picky).   When she got her pink umbrella, she was so excited, and even more excited when it rained and she could see how it worked in the rain.

A Tasty Treat

Homemade cinnamon rolls are a special treat in our house. I took these yesterday, while my dad was making a batch. I'm usually against photos of food, but this is more about the process; plus I couldn't find anything better to photograph that day.

Extreme Swinging

How do you like to go up in a swing,
Up in the air so blue?
Oh, I do think it's the pleasantest thing
Ever a child could do!

-Robert Louis Stevenson

Swinging is a great Sunday afternoon activity, but my family isn't content to just swing back and forth. For my younger siblings, swinging usually includes hanging upside-down, jumps, and other crazy stunts...It's more like extreme swinging.

I took most of these shots lying on the ground looking up. The whole time I was in danger of being jumped on, but thankfully I'm still alive to tell the tale. :)

Worship

Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. In his hand are the depths of the earth; the heights of the mountains are his also. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land. -Psalm 95:1-6

I'm Back! I haven't posted in a while (like since last year), but I hope to keep up with it now that things have slowed down a bit.
I took these photo during a children's musical about Esther. These kids were the 'Children of Israel'.  I loved watching them. Even though it was a play, they really got into it and I could tell they were singing to, and praising God. It was beautiful. It reminded me of Psalm 8:2

"From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise..." -Psalm 8:2
